Clean Mining’s innovative gold processing technology has won international recognition, taking the top award in the mineral processing category in this year’s Mining Magazine Awards.
The industry-choice awards celebrate excellence and innovation in the global mining industry, acknowledging those who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to advancing the industry during the preceding 12 months.
Clean Mining’s win was announced in the January/February issue of Mining Magazine.
It is an honour to be recognised in these awards and for the value of our technology to be acknowledged by industry leaders.
Group CEO Kevin Fell said, “It is an honour to be recognised in these awards and for the value of our technology to be acknowledged by industry leaders.
“The global shift towards cleaner, safer and more responsible mineral processing is a huge step forward for our environment and for mining communities around the world, and Clean Mining is at the forefront.”
The company’s award-winning technology has been the subject of intense research and market development for more than a decade, in collaboration with Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO.
The ground-breaking technology replaces cyanide in ore processing with a non-flammable, water soluble reagent called thiosulphate. This eco-friendly solution has the potential to eliminate the need for tailing dams when used in conjunction with Clean Mining’s de-watering processes. It can also be used to replace mercury in those mining sectors which use the neurotoxic substance to recover gold, like artisanal and small-scale gold mining operations.
Since launching the breakthrough solution in June 2019, Clean Mining has been inundated with interest from gold producers around the globe.
