Clean Mining’s innovative solution supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals for 2030, which are a blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all across the globe.
What are the Sustainable Development Goals?
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), otherwise known as the Global Goals, are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
These 17 Goals build on the successes of the Millennium Development Goals, while including new areas such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, among other priorities. The goals are interconnected – often the key to success on one will involve tackling issues more commonly associated with another.
Our technology solution, helps the resources and energy sector to back several key goals:
Goal 6: Access to clean water and sanitation – by reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimising the release of hazardous chemicals and materials into water sources, as well as minimising water consumption to only that required for ore processing.
Goal 7: Affordable and clean energy – by promoting energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources for our processing plants, which have a smaller footprint that traditional plants and could run on battery technology and/or solar powered technology.
Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth – by opening up previously unviable ore deposits as viable propositions and promoting job creation and community economic growth. Higher levels of economic productivity can also be achieved through technological upgrading.
Goal 9: Industry, innovation and infrastructure – by introducing innovative. environmentally sound technologies and industrial.
Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production – by reducing the use of toxic chemicals and wastes and encouraging product recycling and reuse.
Goal 14: Life below water – by significantly reducing pollution and contamination of water when compared to traditional mining.
Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals – by working with companies, individuals, industry, governments and the community to achieve change and deliver a richer earth and global gold.
